Bikers’ Annual Run For The Son Is Saturday

ATWOOD — Thousands of motorcyclists from all over the United States and Canada will participate in the Christian Motorcyclists Association's annual Run for the Son on Saturday.

The local ride and meal will be at Atwood Community Building. Registration is from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., with the escorted ride beginning at 10 a.m. The meal will begin at noon. Door prizes will be given, and a silent auction is planned.

Cost is $15 for a single rider, $25 for a rider and passenger, and $10 for nonriders who wish to attend the meal. The ride will take place rain or shine.

The 2016 ride raised nearly $4.5 million nationwide, according to CMA. Funds support Jesus Film, the Open Doors ministry and missionary ventures.

Fort Wayne Festival Choir Giving Concert

The Fort Wayne Festival Choir will present a concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Dutchtown Brethren Church.

The Festival Choir will perform many styles of sacred music, including classical, southern gospel, spiritual and hymns of the Christian faith.  

Dutchtown Brethren is at CRs 300 North and 400 East, just east of Chapman Lake.



Jonah Club Fish Fry Planned May 19

NORTH MANCHESTER — The North Manchester Congregational Church will host its annual Jonah Club Fish Fry on May 19.  

The meal will include fish, slaw, applesauce, bread and drink. Indoor serving lines for all-you-can-eat dining will be open from 4:30-7 p.m. Carry-out lines will be open from 4-6:30 p.m. in the west parking lot of the church.  

Tickets for adults are $8 in advance and $9 at the door. All tickets for children ages 6-10 are $5.  Children 5 and younger are free.  To purchase tickets, visit the church, call the church office at 260-982-2882 or email [email protected].  

Proceeds from the fish fry will support missions projects supported by the church.

The church is on the corner of Fourth and Walnut streets in North Manchester.  



Guest Speaker At First Free Will Baptist

CLAYPOOL — Doyle Williamson from Fredricktown, Mo., will preach at 6 p.m. Sunday at First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County.

Burket UMC Rummage Sale May 12-13

BURKET — Burket United Methodist Church is having a rummage sale May 12-13.

The sale will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 12 and 8 a.m. to noon May 13. After 11 a.m. May 13, visitors can pay $1 for everything they can fit in a bag.

All proceeds go to mission projects.

The church is at 102 S. Market St., Burket.



Cancer Benefit Dinner Planned May 13

A cancer benefit dinner for Rita Charles is planned at 4 p.m. May 13 at Pentecostal Lighthouse, 125 W Fawley St., Warsaw.

The event will include dinner, a bake sale, popcorn, cotton candy and gospel singing. Everyone is welcome.

NORTH MANCHESTER — North Manchester United Methodist Church invites the public to a baked steak dinner from 4:30-7 p.m. Friday.

Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 7-12. Carry-outs will be available.
