BATH, Mich. – Grace’s women’s golf team put its finishing touches on the 2016-17 season at the Crossroads League Championships.

The Lady Lancers showed improvement all three rounds Monday and Tuesday, finishing in sixth place at Eagle Eye Golf Club.

As a team, Grace shot 360-353 over the first two rounds on Monday. The young Lady Lancers, starting three sophomores and two freshmen, capped off the season with a third-round 351 to solidify a sixth-place showing.

Grace’s team scoring was 31 strokes better than last year’s result, the first year in team history.

Lauren Keiser was the steadiest hand for Grace. She dropped her round score by two strokes each time, producing a scoreline of 89-87-85 to end in 14th place on the individual leaderboard.

Anna Marshall was one stroke higher than Keiser. She carded two identical rounds of 86 on Monday and ended with a 90 on Tuesday.

Sydney Abbott finished with a 274, highlighted by an 84 in the second round Monday. Her 84 was the lowest round by a Grace player in the tournament.

Libby Tully ended with a tournament total of 276, highlighted by a final-round 85, and Stevie Luebbert carded a 92-96-98 to round out the team’s scoring.

“While we were hoping to finish in the top three this year, we still feel great about the performance,” said Grace head coach Denny Duncan. “There are so many positives to take away from this week, and we have grown tremendously this season. I could not be more proud of the ladies.”
