Kruschwitz Posts Even-Par 36 To Lead Squires To Win

SYRACUSE – In less than ideal conditions, freshman Harley Kruschwitz posted an even-par 36 at Maxwelton Golf Club to lead Manchester over West Noble 171-208 win in a non-conference boys golf match Monday.
Parker Wagoner posted a 43, and Nathan Self had a 44. Konrad Borgmann and Klayton Hendrix had scores of 48 and 54, respectively.
Brock Bodine had a 47, posting the low score for host West Noble.
Manchester will host Whitko and Northfield in a Three Rivers Conference match at Sycamore Golf Club Monday.

Squires Down N. Miami
NORTH MANCHESTER – Mason Meyer  and Hunter Boughman had three hits each, and Boughman homered in Manchester’s 9-2 baseball win over Three Rivers Conference visitor North Miami Monday.
Grant Strobel needed just 99 pitches to go all seven innings and get the win on the mound for the Squires. Kam Lester and Trey McNall added to hits each to the Manchester win.
Now 3-1 in the TRC and 9-3 overall, Manchester travels to Whitko for a conference game on Wednesday.

Lady Squire Softball Wins
NORTH MANCHESTER – Brooklyn Howard struck out nine North Miami batters in her complete-game 5-0 win over visiting North Miami in a Three Rivers Conference softball game Monday.
Erika Kendall and Emma West had two hits each, and Cierra Carter walked three times. Sydney Day and Kiera Stacy drove in a run each for the Lady Squires.
Now 11-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference, Manchester travels to Fulton to take on Caston in a non-conference game today.

Northfield’s Hamer Tosses No-Hitter At Whitko

SOUTH WHITLEY – Northfield’s Blake Hamer tossed a no-hitter at Whitko in a 1-0 Three Rivers Conference baseball win over the Wildcats Monday.
Hamer struck out 10 and walked two. Whitko’s Alex Robbins was the losing pitcher. He scattered six hits, walked none and struck out four.
Whitko (13-3 overall, 2-2 TRC) hosts Manchester Wednesday.

Whitko Tennis Wins
SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko used a sweep in the three singles positions to beat Southwood 3-2 in a Three Rivers Conference girls tennis match Monday.
Morgan Keirn won at No. 1 singles, and her sister Delaney won at No. 2 singles. Jackie Werstler was a winner at No. 3, and all three wins were in straight sets.
Natalie Iholtz won her No. 1 singles junior varsity match for the Lady Wildcats.
Whitko plays another conference match today at Manchester.

Wawasee Beats Concord
DUNLAP – Meghan Fretz struck out eight hitters in seven innings, leading Wawasee to a 2-1 win over host Concord in a Northern Lakes Conference game Monday.
Ale Brito doubled twice and Fretz had a two-bagger and walked twice.
Wawasee improved to 7-0 in the NLC and 14-3 overall. The Lady Warriors will host Warsaw on Wednesday.

Lady Warriors Tennis Wins 4-1 Over West Noble
SYRACUSE – Wawasee swept the two doubles matches, and two of three singles matches to beat West Noble 4-1 in a non-conference girls tennis match Monday.
Peyton Rookstool and Elizabeth Kleopfer won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Kabrea Rostochak and Kendra Doerr won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, as did Taylor Mock and Courtney Larson at No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Warrior junior varsity won 6-1 over East Noble.
Wawasee returns to Northern Lakes Conference play today at Elkhart Memorial.

Lady Tigers Win Slugfest
ELKHART – Warsaw plated 11 runs in the first inning and went on to beat host Elkhart Memorial 18-10 in a Northern Lakes Conference softball game Monday.
Saylor Bradley had three hits, including a pair of doubles, scored three times and drive in four runs. Abby Glass singled three times, scored three runs and had three RBIs. Courtney Chookie was the winning pitcher and Glass pitched the last three innings and was credited with a save.
Warsaw hosts Bethany Christian in a non-conference game at 5 p.m. today.

Triton Blanks N. Judson
BOURBON – Dylan Hensley pitched five innings of one-hit baseball, striking out six and picking up the win for Triton in its 10-0 run-rule shortened baseball game over visiting North Judson Monday.
Hensley also homered and collected three RBIs in the Hoosier North Athletic Conference game. Nate Flenar had a double, two singles and scored three times. Adam Stevens drove in two runs, and Keygan Moiser added a pair of hits and scored twice.
Triton is scheduled to take a trip to Knox for an HNAC game today.

Lady Vikings Blanked
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley lost a Three Rivers Conference tennis match 5-0 to visiting Rochester Monday.
The Lady Vikings host Wabash in a conference match today.

Two Games Postponed
Two Times-Union area games were postponed Monday and will be played today.
Warsaw’s home baseball game with Elkhart Memorial will start at 5:30 p.m. Whitko softball will host Northfield at 5 p.m
