Five Hurt In Crash

Five people were injured after a two-vehicle crash Thursday night at the intersection of Packerton Road and CR 225S. At about 8:49 p.m., Ruth Steffen, 23, Detroit, ran a stop sign and hit a car driven by Zachary Dustin, 26, James Way Court, Warsaw, according to a crash report by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Steffen was taken to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, with a back injury. Dustin was not injured. Four of Steffen’s passengers were hurt in the crash. Nicole Wetli, 25, Albion, was transported to Parkview Warsaw with pain to her neck; Cliff Richards, 49, Eel River Manor, South Whitley, was transported to the hospital with a head injury; Trisha Steffen, 20, Decatur, was transported to Parkview Warsaw with an injury to her leg/foot; Andrea Noble, 4, U.S. 30, Pierceton, was transported to Parkview Warsaw with pain to her entire body. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $10,000 to $25,000.
