 The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
• 4:25 a.m. Friday – Mark Dale McGillem, 39, of 422 S. Union St., Warsaw, arrested for obstruction of justice. Bond: $5,250.
• 2:16 p.m. Friday – Robert Kevin Bryant, 47, of 36 EMS B44 Lane, Leesburg, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with Schedule I and II controlled substances. Bond: $700.
• 3:54 p.m. Friday – Nathan Nicholas York, 21, of 4155 N. Aspen Drive, Warsaw, arrested for failure to appear and driving while suspended. Bond: $15,450.
• 4:26 p.m. Friday – Nicholas Blake Hoover-Hill, 25, of 411 W. Porter St., Warsaw, arrested for possession of a syringe for a legend drug. Bond: $5,250.
• 4:34 p.m. Friday – Sarah Elizabeth McDowell, 24, of 411 W. Porter St., Warsaw, arrested for possession of a syringe for a legend drug. Bond: $5,250.
• 4:58 p.m. Friday – Sabrina Ann Vuittonet, 27, of 302 E. Benton St., Syracuse, arrested for probation violation. No bond set.
• 5:56 p.m. Friday – Cesar Ivan Baca Rodas, 41, Goshen, arrested for battery in the presence of a child. Bond:?$5,250.

• 11:38 p.m. Thursday – U.S. 30 at North CR 150W, Warsaw. Semi-SUV collision. Drivers: Jamel N. Manning, 43, Raleigh, N.C.; Kassandra D. Roberts, 23, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Injury: Roberts complained of pain to her neck and refused EMS transport. Damage: $10,000-$25,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated.
• 12:25 p.m. Friday – Old 30 at North CR 300E, Warsaw. SUV-pickup collision. Drivers: Carol A. Groning, 59, North CR 850E, Pierceton; Brian N. Nulf, 41, Meridian Street, North Manchester. Injury: Groning complained of pain to her chest and was checked by medics. Damage: $25,000-$50,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.

• 5:40 p.m. Thursday – South Dixie Drive at East Himes Street, North Webster. Motorcycle slid on gravel into drainage tile. Driver: Gerald D. Renz,  49, Kendallville. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. North Webster Police Department investigated.
• 6:05 p.m. Thursday – South Huntington Street south of East Baltimore Street, Syracuse. Two-vehicle collision. Drivers: Grace M. Trafan, 18, North Hickory Street, Warsaw; Tiffany N. Slocum, 35, EMS D18 Lane, Syracuse. Damage: $1,000-$2,500. Syracuse Police Department investigated.
• 8:09 p.m. Thursday – South County Farm Road north of West CR 600S, Claypool. Car hit deer. Driver: Daniel J. Triesch, 43, South County Farm Road, Silver Lake. Damage: $10,000-$25,000. KCSD.
• 4:59 a.m. Friday – Old 30 south of North CR 900E, Pierceton. Car hit deer. Driver: Gregory D. Newman, 23, South Main Street, South Whitley. Damage: $2,500-$5,000. KCSD.

Incidents
• 9 a.m. Thursday – A suspicious person was reported in the 100 block of Higbee Street, Milford. A woman was found with paraphernalia. Milford Police Department investigated.
• 8:36 p.m. Thursday – Invasion of privacy was reported in the 9100 block of West CR 900S, Claypool. KCSD.
• 12:14 a.m. Friday – A woman reported battery in the 200 block of Beechnut Court, Warsaw. WPD.
• 12:24 a.m. Friday – Police investigated the report of a driver operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated in the 5500 block of East CR 1400N, Syracuse. KCSD.
• 4:03 a.m. Friday – A suspect was picked up on a warrant in the 1900 block of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. WPD.
• 5 p.m. Friday – A person reported theft of a wallet from Hampton Inn, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. WPD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
