The Rev. Kenneth Alva Burris Jr., Pierceton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 14, 2017, in Homewood, Ill., at the age of 84. 
He was born March 28, 1932, in Peoria, Ill., to Kenneth Alva and Audreyanna Price Burris. On Aug. 20, 1954, he married Delora June Ryan, who passed away Sept. 5, 2010. 
He served as a Presbyterian pastor for more than 30 years, pastoring numerous churches in Illinois, Ohio and Indiana. He retired as pastor of Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church in Attica in 1995, and in retirement served churches in Lake Prairie and Lake Village. He received his B.A. from Millikin University in 1953 and his Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary in 1961. 
He also served for a time as a development officer at Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va., and Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Ala.  He moved to Winona Lake in 2008. 
He loved the Lord, and he loved people. Many people in the churches he served and attended were blessed by his care, compassion and counsel. He was a devoted husband and father, and delighted in his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 
He is survived by two daughters, Deanna (husband Roger) Bryant, Midland, Mich., and Joy (husband Scott) Eshleman, Homewood; son, James (wife Norma) Burris, Toledo, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Ruth Burris, Genoa, Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his half sister, Alicia Laddin, Mission Viejo, Calif. 
He was preceded by his parents; Delora, his wife of 56 years; son Duane Burris; grandson Andrew Burris; and great-grandson Alex Lopez. 
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. 
A private family service is planned Monday at the funeral home. 
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
