Whitley County Country Quilters
Whitley County Country Quilters hosted this year's Gathering of Quilters on March 11. Over 700 enthusiasts from 60-plus clubs and guilds from across the region gathered for the day in Lakeview Middle School, Warsaw.
Attendees were treated to many activities, including a vendor fair with 27 booths selling fabrics, kits, notions, sewing machines, quilt display products, and even jewelry and candles. Donna Kooistra, certified quilt appraiser, provided documented appraised value of quilts.
Award-winning quilter, author, instructor and historian Mary W. Kerr was the speaker for the morning. Her subject was the "Hexie Revolution."
Lunch, shopping, show & tell, and perusing quilts made and owned by members of the host guild filled out the rest of the day.
This is the first time Whitley County Country Quilters hosted the annual event, which celebrates National Quilting Day.

Winona Literary Club
A St. Patrick's Day theme greeted members as they met March 15 at the Robin Hood Community Center. Hostesses were Phylllis Dunlap and Merri Bottorff.
Marilyn Roeber read the collect and offered prayer. Carol Volkers, president, opened the meeting.
Marcia South introduced Miriam Pacheco and Barb Wooler. Through music and conversation, they described their lives centered on Christ and the path of mission work he directed them to follow. Members were delighted to sing with them “I Love to Tell the Story,” “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Near to My Heart,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness” and “Day by Day.”
After visiting the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Ky., Donna Lehman bought book 1 of the Remnant Trilogy, “Noah, A Man of Destiny,” by Tim Chaffey and K. Marie Adams.
