Ohio Man Held In Theft From Lowe’s; Part Of Multi-State Operation, Cops Say

An Ohio man was arrested Thursday after police allege he was involved in multiple thefts in multiple states.
Joshua Armstrong, 25, Toledo, is charged with two felony counts – corrupt business influence and theft.
He is accused of taking tools from Lowe’s with a female accomplice. Police allege the thefts were tied to a racketering ring across multiple states.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, Armstrong entered Lowe’s in Warsaw with his accomplice and shoplifted $1,279.25 worth of tools.
Lowe’s employees wrote down his license plate and police tracked the car to a female inmate in Lucas County Jail, Toledo.
Police obtained calls the inmate made to Armstrong’s accomplice, where the inmate told the accomplice to get the car out of her name.
A Warsaw police officer made contact with the alleged accomplice, who first denied she was the person in question. The officer told her he recognized her voice from the recording, the affidavit states.
Police allege the woman  told police, “Quit calling, b-----, before I kill you,” and then hung up on them.
Police found a phone call where the accomplice allegedly told one of her friends she had made $600 in one day from the thefts,  and had been committing the thefts for the past 2-1/2 months.
The investigation led police to multiple other Lowes’ across multiple states where the pair allegedly stole tools.
Speaking with police from another department, Armstrong was identified as the male involved in the thefts, the affidavit states.
A police captain from Trotwood, Ohio, spoke with Armstrong.
Police allege Armstrong told them he and his accomplice had stolen from Lowe’s in serval states, including two in Indiana.
As of this morning, Armstrong was being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on a $12,000 bond.
