Robert Allen Gill, 92, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2017, at his home in San Jose, Calif.

On Sept. 20, 1924, Robert was born and raised in Warsaw. He graduated from Warsaw High School. In 1943 he entered World War II as a Navy enrollee. After his honorable discharge he attended and graduated from Purdue University. Robert worked as an aerospace engineer for Lockheed Martin (California) and retired after 28 years.

Robert trekked in the Himalayas after retirement, an example of his long-held love of hiking and walking, and continually found joy in his computer projects and love of his family.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Eleanor Louise Gill; his son, Brian Allen Gill; granddaughter, Laura Louise Gill; and his nieces, Rhonda Curtis and Sandra Lachowski.

Services were June 19 at Skylawn Memorial Park, San Mateo, Calif. 

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is assisting the family locally.
