Juanita B. Miller Allen, 86, of Leesburg, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11:33 p.m. in Goshen Hospital.

She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in Leesburg, to C. Maxwell and Hazel Starner Miller. She graduated salutatorian from Leesburg High School in 1948.

She married Richard A. “Dick” Allen on June 12, 1949. He preceded her in death Oct. 28, 2014, after 65 years of marriage.

She lived her entire life in Leesburg, while she and Dick enjoyed winters in Quartzsite, Ariz., after they retired. She worked at Peoples State Bank in Leesburg for many years and then raised ducks for Maple Leaf Farms while her children were in school.

She was a member of the Tippy Lee Home Ec. Club and Past President of Kosciusko County Extension Homemakers Association. She was a member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed banking, quilting, traveling, her cats and time with her family.

She is survived by a son, Steven Allen, Leesburg; daughter, Beth (Todd) Hofmann, Leesburg; five grandchildren: Heather (Michael) Gaines, Warsaw; Brittany (Duffy) Gaynor, Zionsville; Ashley (Sam) Householder, Osceola; Cody (Faith) Allen, Ashford, Conn.; and Dax (Jaki) Allen, Noblesville; two great grandchildren, Easton and Ava Gaynor; and a brother, Gerald “Bud” Miller, of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Max Allen; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Lee Gaynor.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. June 28, 2017, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Rob Seewald of Leesburg United Methodist Church will officiate the service.
