Genevieve Ileene Stafford, 88 years old at the time of her death, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 11 a.m. in her Warsaw home.

Genevieve was born to Jacob and Hazel Hicks Rockey on Nov. 19, 1929. She was born in Warsaw, spending most of her lifetime there. On April 13, 1954, she was married to the late Roland W. Stafford Sr.

Genevieve had worked for Miller’s Merry Manor, Cardinal Center and Candy Kitchen before retiring from K-Mart in January 1998. She had dedicated 16 years there before retiring. She was also active with the Salvation Army’s League of Mercy for some time.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Roland W. (Carolyn) Stafford Jr., of Warsaw, and four daughters: Jeanette Davis of Muncie, Mary Ellen (Ricky) Daniels of Warsaw, Virginia Stafford of Warsaw and Tricia Rhoades of Douglasville, Texas. She also is survived by a sister, Betty Ann McFarren of Winona Lake.

In addition to her husband, Roland, who passed on Aug. 8, 1979, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann McFarren; brother, Junior Rockey; grandson, Steven Daniels and great-granddaughter, Karla Villa.

Friends may gather in support of her family on Wednesday, June 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Bishop James Barber, retired, will be officiating the services with burial at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
