Health Care

Word on the street is that 13 GOP lawmakers, all men, have been meeting in secret to craft the Obamacare replacement bill. One presumes that they are working in conjunction with lobbyists who do not have the best interests of Middle America at heart.
The plan is, apparently, to bring this bill to the Senate floor for a vote with very little notice and very little debate. They will skip committee altogether and bring it to the floor as part of budget reconciliation. That’s right, a proposal with huge impact on the sector that comprises one-sixth of our economy is going to be penned by 13 people with no input from the larger Congressional body, let alone the rest of us. Accept it as is, or else! How bad can this bill be if Mitch McConnell won’t let anybody see it until the last minute?
That is not how this country’s government was meant to be run. If 13 people can set the policy for one-sixth of the nation’s economy with no input from real Americans, then we may as well be living under communism. At least then we would have affordable health care.
I call on Indiana Senators Todd Young and Joe Donnelly to stop this insanity.
