Margaret L. Butts, Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Grace Village Health Care at the age of 105.

She was born April 22, 1912, in Clunette, to Addie Fawley and Ernest Rowe. On May 3, 1930, she was married to Lawrence W. Butts. They shared 69 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on Feb. 23, 2000.

She attended Deedsville High School in Miami County. Margaret was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 78 years and was a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, Akron. She worked for many years at Beaver Dam School, helped on the family farm and even worked at the Kosciusko County Court House.

Margaret was always keeping busy. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Ladies Aid, she loved sports — ALL sports — and was a real true fan. She enjoyed euchre and loved people, but her true passion was gardening. She loved to raise roses, shrubs and trees, and even landscaping for her friends.

Margaret lived a full life in her 105 years. She will be forever loved by her family and will be truly missed.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Gene (wife Carole) Butts, Warsaw, and Don (wife Shirley) Butts, North Webster; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 6, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow immediately at noon, officiated by Chaplain Bryan Benjamin.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
