PIERCETON – Carl William Jarrett Sr., 75, of Pierceton, passed away at 9:57 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Kosciusko County Hospital in Warsaw. 

He was born on Sept. 7, 1941, in Indianapolis to Clarence and Ruth (Wilson) Kates. 

He graduated from Harry E. Wood High School in Indianapolis, attended Indiana University in Indianapolis, and was a United States Army veteran. 

He was married on Dec. 14, 1963, in Indianapolis to Catherine Eaton who survives. He retired in 2005 from DePuy in Warsaw after 20 years and formerly worked for Allis-Chalmers in Wisconsin for many years. He moved to the Pierceton-North Webster area 25 years ago from Wisconsin. 

He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Jarrett of Pierceton; one daughter, Chandra (Jeff) Galloway of Syracuse; one son, Carl (Anna) Jarrett II of Niangua, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Eaton, of Greely, Colo., and Betty Ramirez, of Indianapolis; one brother,  Robert (Betty) Wendell, of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Tommy Jarrett, one sister, Virginia Taylor, and one brother, Andrew “Jack” Jarrett.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500 N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2017, in the funeral home with Pastor Ben Pippen of Great Lakes Hospice officiating. Burial will take place in Syracuse Cemetery with military graveside rites.
