NORTH WEBSTER — Danny F. "Dan" Somers, 56, North Webster, passed away at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017, at I.U. Health Hospital, Indianapolis. 

He was born Aug. 1, 1960, in Fort Wayne, to Danny A. “Jap” and Marie H. “Tiger” Somers.

He graduated in 1978 from Wawasee High School, Syracuse; attended Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne; and moved to the Syracuse/North Webster area in the early 1970s from Fort Wayne. 

He was married June 5, 1982, in Syracuse, to Michelle Diane Myers, who survives. 

He retired in 2009 from Dana Corp., Syracuse, after 25 years and was a self-employed consultant for automotive sorting. 

He was a master Mason at Masonic Lodge 414, Bremen. He formerly was the den leader for the Cub Scouts in North Webster, assistant leader for the Boy Scouts in North Webster, and an archery instructor for Rising Arrow Cub Scout Day Camp in Warsaw for 25 years. 

He enjoyed whitewater rafting, disc golf, fishing and photography.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Somers, North Webster; daughter, Sasha (John Toschlog) Somers, North Webster; two sons, Forest (Alisha) Somers and Brenden Somers, both of North Webster; three grandchildren: Savahanna N., Kaidan S. and Gabriel F. Somers; parents, Dan and Marie Somers, Syracuse; and sister, Tammy Serafini, Cromwell.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, in the funeral home with Pastor Myron Drent of the Country Bible Church officiating. 

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Ind. 15, Warsaw.
