A Mentone man is in jail after police say he stole medication from CVS at gunpoint Thursday night.

Jesse Combs, 27, of 3708 Ind. 25, is facing charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of narcotics over 28 grams, intimidation with a deadly weapon, theft and carrying a handgun without a license.

Just before 11 p.m., police say Combs approached the pharmacy counter at CVS and told the pharmacist to give him all the opiates. The suspect drew a silver and black handgun from his waist and pointed it toward the pharmacist. The pharmacist provided a bin of Hydrocodone pills, and the suspect left the building walking east, according to a news release from Warsaw Police Department.

Just a few minutes after the call, a Warsaw officer located Combs near Center and Zoe streets.

Combs had several unopened Hydrocodone bottles in his possession, according to the release.

He is being held in the county jail without bond on a prosecutor’s hold pending further investigation.
