MILFORD — Roberta J. McDonald, 79, New Paris, passed away peacefully at 2:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Center for Hospice Care, Elkhart.

She was born April 13, 1938, the daughter Cornelius and Lois Christophel Reuter in Mishawaka. On Nov. 19, 1960, she married Carl McDonald; he preceded her in death June 3, 2005.

Roberta is survived by her siblings: Dorothy Kistler, New Paris; Herbert (Patricia) Reuter, Milford; and Joann (Robin) Boyer, Tippecanoe Lake; and nieces and nephews: Valerie (Robert) Haywood, Milford; Kimberly Reuter, Chicago, Ill.; Michael Reuter, Carmel; and Marie Pennington, Elkhart.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Roberta graduated from New Paris High School in 1956 and was a life-long employee of Johnson Controls, formerly Penn Controls, in Goshen. She retired after 44 years of faithful service.

Roberta enjoyed caring for many dogs over the years, most recently her best dog friend, Cricket. In her early years she enjoyed bowling, and in her golden years, volunteering at Goshen Hospital as a pink coat and cheering on the Cubs.

A funeral service will be held in Roberta's honor at 11 a.m. Monday, July 17, at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Milford. Pastor Nelda Risden of Bethany Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at the funeral home.
