NOTRE DAME – Director Cameron Knight returns to the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival to direct “Twelfth Night,” this season’s Touring Company production.

Last year, Knight directed “Pericles, Prince of Tyre” for traveling Shakespeare.

Taltree Arboretum and Gardens in Valparaiso hosts the first of 11 stops throughout northwestern Indiana and southwestern Michigan.

The Krasl Art Center, St. Joseph, Mich.; the Goshen Theater; and Encore Performing Arts, Plymouth, are the other venues further out from Potawatomi Park, South Bend, and Battell Park, Mishawaka, which are closer to the University of Notre Dame.

“We live in a world dominated by fear of the ‘other,’ ... [that] brings us to the only true power we have: choice,” Knight said. “‘Twelfth Night’ thrusts us into this thinking: How do we go on? Who are we in public and how do we navigate our private moments, our dreams and passions; How do we get back home? We will explore identity and the mood of loving and loss; the stories we tell ourselves about our life experiences and how that informs the very actions that make up our day-to-day life.”

Join the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival’s Touring Company in its signature ensemble style under the open sky (Note: Goshen Theater, July 30, will be an indoor performance). All performances are free, so bring the whole family, pack chairs and a picnic, and experience this twist on Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night.”
