Rinker Named Vet Of the Month

John J. Rinker was honored Tuesday as veteran of the month by Kosciusko County. Pictured (L to R): Kosciusko County Veterans Affairs Officer Rich Maron, commissioner Bob Conley, Rinker, and commissioners Brad Jackson and Ron Truex. Rinker, 85, was drafted into the U.S. Army along with his brother. He recalls digging trenches and delivering supplies to soldiers on the front line during the Korean War. Afterward, Rinker returned to work in the family business that is known today as Rinker Boat Company, Syracuse. He retired in 2005.
