Local Edward Jones Offices To Sponsor Alzheimer’s Presentations

By Staff Report-

Edward Jones is sponsoring a series of presentations aimed at families who have someone close to them with Alzheimer’s.

The first of three meetings is Thursday night at the Parkview room at the Warsaw YMCA, 1305 Mariners Drive. The meetings will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each night.

The corporate investment firm established a working relationship with the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter last year and the upcoming series is a result of that agreement.

Edward Jones has seven offices in Warsaw and representatives are organizing the series, said Justin Elliott, a financial advisory for the company.

Representatives of Edward Jones hear concerns from customers who are directly or indirectly affected by the disease.

Those concerns are heard regularly as the company works with families, Elliott said.

The presentations are free and open to the public and are geared toward people suffering from the disease as well as family members and caregivers, Elliott said.

Thursday’s meeting will focus on “The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s.”

On Aug. 10, the topic shifts to “Dementia Conversations: Driving, Doctor Visits, Legal and Financial Planning.”

On Sept. 7, the topic is “Effective Communication Strategies.”

Edward Jones also will host an Alzheimer’s Association Family Day later this sumer.

Elliott said Parkview Hospital Warsaw is helping sponsor the event.

To register for the event, call 800-272-3900.
