He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Sturgis, Mich. On July 3, 1976, he married Shirley Grisamer, who preceded him in 2004.
He served in the U.S. Army 182nd “Rakasan” Airborne Division during the Korean conflict.
He was a lifelong area resident. He retired as a NIPSCO lineman. He was a member of North Webster Church of God.
He is survived by his children: Daretta Engh, Greenfield; Drenna (Jerry) Dean, Hawaii; Daralea (Kraig) Kailey, Kokomo; Darren Grisamer, Avon; Tina (Robert) Kocher, Syracuse; Teresa (Dennis) Linville, Mishawaka; and Tony Searfoss, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his companion, Delores Neff, Wakarusa.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Eastlund Funeral Home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Syracuse Cemetery with military honors.
