BOURBON – In a three-overtime game with the Hoosier North Athletic Conference girls basketball title on the line, North Judson edged Triton 37-34 in the Trojan Trench Friday night.
After a relatively high-scoring first quarter Triton led 13-11, and the Lady Trojans carried a 18-15 lead to the locker room at halftime.
The Lady Bluejays outscored Triton 7-3 in the third quarter to take a 22-21 lead into the fourth quarter.
Nicole Sechrist, who played all 44 minutes of the marathon matchup, had a game-high 18 points for the Lady Trojans. Casey Korniak had 16 points and Morgan Schumacher added 12 for the Lady Bluejays.
North Judson finished with an 8-0 record in the HNAC, and 18-4 overall. Triton tied for second place in the conference with Winamac at 6-2.
The Lady Trojans (8-14 overall) open play in the 1A Culver Community Sectional Tournament Wednesday against No. 2 Argos. Game time will be about 8 p.m., following the game between North Miami and Culver Community.
