Wayne Marvin Nicola, Warsaw, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Jan. 15, 2017, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne at the age of 79.
He was born July 31, 1937, in Eastport, Mich., to Wilburt Nicola and Marian Batterbee Nicola. On June 21, 1958, he was married to Erma Haught, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1968 and worked at Dalton Foundries, Warsaw, for 32 years as a metallurgical engineer and vice president, retiring in 2000. He was a recipient of several awards as a member of the American Foundry Society. He was a past school board member in Cushing, Okla., member of Ducks Unlimited and the National Rifle Association, and was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.
He was a 48-year member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, taught Sunday school and was a Stephen Minister. He also enjoyed going to Men’s Tuesday Morning Bible Study at Warsaw Community Church.
