Phillip L. Harden, 81, joined with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 11, 2017. He was surrounded by his family at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
He was born Jan. 26, 1935, in South Bend, and graduated from Silver Lake School and Tri-State University. He was united in marriage with Velma Juday on Aug. 15, 1954. They were married 62 years.
He worked at Bowmar Instrument Corp. for 15 years; founded and ran V H Electronics, Harden Industries and Harden Electric; and ran a large family farming operation before retiring.
He was a member of Zanesville United Methodist Church since 1973. He loved his family, fishing, farming  and retreats in Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Velma, Roanoke; a sister, Doris (spouse Milton) Bloom, Warsaw; a daughter, Sheryl (spouse Rick) Lee, Roanoke; sons, Jim (spouse Terri) Harden, Roanoke, and Ken (spouse Nancy) Harden, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren: Matt Wymer, Indianapolis; Lisa Wymer, Fort Wayne; Andy Harden, Georgia; Zane Harden, Roanoke; Glenn Harden, Zanesville; and Galen Harden, Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Gabe, Malakhi and Evelyn, Georgia.
He was preceded by his parents, Phillip and Jennie Harden; and sister, Jackie Kerlin.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Zanesville United Methodist Church and one hour prior to the funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Burial will be at Hoverstock Cemetery, Zanesville.
