SYRACUSE — Thomas August Kuemmel, 73, Syracuse, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Jan. 9, 2017, at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Milford. 
He was born May 28, 1943, in Sandusky, Ohio, to August Oliver and Beulah Ann Luberger Kuemmel.
He attended Perkin High School, Sandusky, and moved to the Ligonier area in 1964 from Sandusky. He moved to Syracuse in 1986, and on Sept. 19, 1986, in Sandusky, he married Debra Lynn “Deb” Lozano, who survives. 
He retired in 2004 from Lippert Components, Goshen, as a truck driver.  
He was a member of Eagles Lodge 3760, Syracuse, and enjoyed playing sports and coaching ball teams.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Kuemmel, Syracuse; two daughters, Celinda M. Ratliff, Bristol, and Cynthia A. (spouse Bruce) Kreutzer, Kearney, Neb.; a son, Thomas A. (spouse Marcy) Kuemmel Jr., Ligonier; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and a sister, Geraldine A. “Gerri” Kuemmel, Sandusky.
He was preceded by his parents and a daughter, Christina D. Hilker. 
No services are planned. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Sandusky.
