BOURBON — Martha Lois Carl Edmonds, 88, Plymouth, formerly of rural Argos, passed away Dec. 31, 2016, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, with her family at her side. 
She was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Tippecanoe, to William G. and Edith Gantz Carl. On Sept. 4, 1949, she joined in marriage to Max Edmonds in Lapel. He passed away Aug. 5, 2015. 
She has been a resident of Argos most all her life, growing up in the house she was raised in, until she and Max moved into Miller’s Merry Manor Assisted Living in 2013. 
She was a graduate of Argos High School, where she worked in the office until her retirement in 1993. She was a sports fan, following the Argos Dragons, where her boys were involved in sports activities, and her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed music and was a faithful member of Argos United Methodist Church. 
She will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her five children: Rick (spouse Denice) Edmonds, Defiance, Ohio; Kevin (spouse Carol) Edmonds, Leesburg; Terry (spouse Rosemary) Edmonds, Columbia, Tenn.; Kip (spouse Sarah) Edmonds, Tippecanoe; and Kim (spouse Kimmy) Edmonds, Chicago, Ill. She also was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Mary Stephenson and Anna Belle Eby. 
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Argos United Methodist Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos. 
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the church, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Heather Foley will officiate. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Bourbon.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, was entrusted with arrangements.
