SYRACUSE – Betty Jane Finney, 91, Syracuse, passed away at 5:03 a.m. Jan. 26, 2017 at Goshen Hospital.
She was born July 30, 1925, in Huntington, to Earl F. and Edna Shivley Garretson.
On June 23, 1946, in Huntington, she married Gail E. Finney, who preceded her on July 23, 1989.
She graduated in 1943 from Huntington High School and was a World War II Navy veteran. 
She moved to the Syracuse area in 1959 from Huntington. She retired on June 27, 2008, from Royal Imprints Corporation, Ligonier, after 31 years and formerly worked at G&W Pizza, Syracuse.
She was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church, Syracuse, and enjoyed reading mysteries.
She is survived by two daughters, Cris (spouse Charlie) DeHart, Elon, N.C., and Melissa (spouse Bob) Yoder, Syracuse; a son, Tracy (spouse Mary) Finney, Marietta, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, husband and three brothers, Earl, William and Robert “Bob” Garretson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Memorial services will follow at noon Friday in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Private family burial will be in the Syracuse Cemetery.
