NORTH WEBSTER — David D. “Dave” Clayton, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Feb. 13, 2017, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
He was born June 18, 1936, in Syracuse, to Eldon and Louise Watkins Clayton.
He graduated in 1954 from Leesburg High School and was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko and Noble counties. He was married Sept. 20, 1995, in Kimmell, to Judy K. Cook Vincent, who survives.
He retired from Clausing Industrial, Warsaw and Goshen, as a machinist after 55 years.
He formerly attended the Church of God, North Webster, was a former leader of Kosciusko County 4-H Horse and Pony, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Clayton, Kimmell; three daughters: Deb (spouse Don) Minear, North Webster; Raetta (spouse Manuel) Madriz, Eden Prairie, Minn.; and Mary Ann (spouse Joel) Vorndran, Columbia City; two sons, James (spouse Toni) Clayton and Ed (spouse Judy) Clayton, both of North Webster; two stepsons, Brad (Carla Snyder) Smith and Ron (spouse Christy) Smith, both of Kimmell; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Betty Clayton and Dee Stetzel, both of Albion, and Eldonna (spouse Randy) Warren, North Webster.
He was preceded by his parents and two sisters, Rosalind Clayton and Sally Phillips.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Private family burial will take place in Leesburg Cemetery.
