Darlene Evelyn Slusher, 89, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 15, 2017, in Miller’s Oak Point, Columbia City.
She was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Claypool, to John and Neva Miller Wehrly. She married Paul E. Slusher on March 4, 1961, in Warsaw.
She was a 1946 graduate of Warsaw High School and a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. She was an assembly operator at Dana Weatherhead for 24 years, retiring in 1991.
She enjoyed bird watching and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Locke, Columbia City, and Betty Lou Aguilera, Statesville, N.C.; two sons, Michael (spouse Carolyn) Locke and Stacy (spouse Mary) Slusher, both of Warsaw; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; a brother, Johnie Wehrly, Peru, South America; a half brother, Gary Wehrly, Burton, Mich.; a sister, Frances (spouse Robert) Lang, South Bend; and a stepsister, Norma (spouse Loren) July, Burton.
She was preceded by her husband, Paul Slusher, on Oct. 14, 1991; three brothers: Raymond, Forrest “Everett” and Herschel Wehrly; her stepmother, Opal E. Wehrly; and a stepbrother, Lavern Carroll.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
