SYRACUSE – Before Saturday’s Wawasee boys basketball game, the program and athletic department honored Jim Alford with a plaque for his 47 seasons of keeping the Warrior scorebook. In the photo above, Alford (R) is picutred with former Wawasee player and current assistant principal Vince Beasley. Alford began teaching for Wawasee schools in 1962, retiring in 1996. His scorebook work began with the 1969-70 season and concluded at the end of the 2015-16 season. Alford and his wife Jo continue to attend every Wawasee boys basketball game, home and away.
