NORTH WEBSTER — James S. “Jim” Shepherd, 88, Warsaw, passed away Feb. 12, 2017, at his home. 
He was born May 10, 1928, in Bippus, to George and Blanche Spicer Shepherd. 
He graduated from Bippus High School and in 1952 from Indiana University in Bloomington with his B.A degree. He was a United States Navy veteran and was married Sept. 9, 1952, to Phyllis J. Wall, who preceded him Aug. 6, 2001. 
He retired as a production manager in 1986 from RCA in Marion, where he had worked since 1952, then moved to the Warsaw area 29 years ago from Marion.
He was a member of the Church of God and American Legion Post 253, both of North Webster.
He is survived by a son, James “Mike” (spouse Rhonda) Shepherd, Rives Junction, Mich.; a granddaughter, Megan Shepherd; a great-grandson, Del Ray Shepherd; and two brothers, John (spouse Joan) Shepherd, Bippus, and Richard (spouse Rosalie) Shepherd, South Whitley.
He was preceded by his parents; two infant sons, Kip and Brad Shepherd; and four sisters: Edith, Georgie, Ena and Anita. 
Visitation will be from noon until the 2 p.m. service Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Pastor Dennis Judy will officiate. 
Private family burial is planned Thursday at Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion.
