Wawasee Comeback Falls Short, Streak Continues

GOSHEN – After trailing 33-29 after three quarters, Wawasee outscored Goshen 12-9 in the fourth quarter, falling just short in a 42-41 loss to the RedHawks in a Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball game Friday night.
The loss extended Wawasee’s NLC losing streak to 42 games, or six full seasons. The Warriors’ last NLC win was over Northridge 73-51 on Feb. 15, 2011.
Senior Trevon Coleman, in his second game back from a knee injury, scored a game-high 20 points for Wawasee. Jacob Hand had 11 points, Jairus Boyer had six and Tyler Smith scored four points for the Warriors.
Now 5-12 overall, Wawasee hosts Mishawaka (6-12) at 2:30 this afternoon at the Hardwood Tepee.
