McSherry, who works as the county administrator, has held the GOP party post for more than 16 years.
In that role, she’s worked with five different county chairs in recent years. Those include Mike Miner, Aaron Rovenstine, Mike Gavin and Randy Girod.
“And I’ve enjoyed working with Mike Ragan,” McSherry said, referring to the current county party chairman.
Party leaders will gather March 4 for a regular reorganizational meeting of the central committee, which happens every four years.
Ragan announced earlier this week that he plans to seek the nomination to retain his position. He was selected as chair last year after Randy Girod resigned.
