He was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Mishawaka, to John E. and Helen Mabel Cowan Grimm.
He moved to the Warsaw area in the 1940s and attended Warsaw High School. On July 17, 1965, in Warsaw, he married Karen Ann Rollings, who survives.
He retired in 1998 from Warsaw Engineering & Fabrication as a heavy equipment operator.
He was on several bowling leagues over the years and loved to pitch horseshoes and playing dominoes and cards.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Grimm, Claypool; three daughters: Katie (spouse Chuck) Anderson, Howe; Jeannie (spouse Randy) Zorn, Warsaw; and Marsha Worrell, Ligonier; two sons, Rob (spouse Crystal) Grimm, Warsaw, and Greg (spouse Donata) Grimm, Claypool; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Grimm, Rochester.
He was preceded by his parents; a sister, Marge; a brother, Ted; and an uncle, Carl Cowan.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Harvest Community Church, 512 S. Seventh St., Pierceton, with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating.
