BOURBON — Candace J. Hedington, 79, a faithful servant of God, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 29, 2016, at home. She was surrounded by her husband, Delbert; her children; and her loving dog, Susie. She had been ill the past few months.
She was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Etna Green, to Harley “Hod” and Lela Fern Taylor Mellott. She was a lifelong resident and attended Etna Green High School.
She retired in 2001 from Kinder’s Manufacturing, Warsaw. She was a Red Hat Lady, a member of the Thimble Club of Etna Green and attended Warsaw Community Church.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, camping, traveling, dominos, playing euchre and watching her hummingbirds. But most of all she enjoyed her family. She will greatly be missed by all who knew her.
On Jan. 30, 1954, she joined in marriage to Delbert Hedington in Warsaw. He survives along with their children: Randy (spouse Yolanda) Hedington, Warsaw; Rodney (spouse Shari) Hedington, Mentone; Tonya (spouse Jeff) Satoski, Warsaw; and Ray (spouse Laurie) Hedington, Plymouth. She was further blessed with nine grandchildren: Erica (spouse Todd) Pace, Gregory (spouse Kirsta) Hedington, Clint (spouse Tara) Hedington, Ryan (spouse Christy) Hedington, Tera (spouse Jake) Neer, Bryan (spouse Tara) Wong, Jordan Satoski, Brant (spouse Gentry) Hedington and Cameron Hedington; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Joy Dickson-Music, Warsaw, and Jane (spouse George) Smith, Sierra Vista, Ariz.
She was preceded by her parents, Hod and Lela Mellott; and four brothers: Jackie, Jerry, Roy and Jim Mellott.
A celebration of life service will be at Warsaw Community Church (WCC main campus), 1855 S. County Farm Road, Warsaw, on Friday. Visitation begins at 5:30 p.m. The memorial is at 6:30 p.m.
