Patrick Moves Into 2nd On All-Time Win List With Valley Victory

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball coach Bill Patrick moved in to sole possession of second place on Indiana’s all-time wins list with the Vikings’ 61-31 victory over visiting Wabash Thursday night in Three Rivers Conference play.
Patrick’s 762 wins passes Pat Rady on the list, and he now trails only Jack Butcher with 806 wins. Patrick has 284 wins in 19 seasons at Valley, and is in his 48th season overall.
The Vikings led 27-18 before outscoring Wabash 23-4 in the third quarter to secure the win. Senior Alec Craig paced Valley with 15 points, with Keith Wright adding 11 and Wes Melanson adding 10.
Valley (7-11, 3-4 TRC) hosts Maconaquah on Tuesday.

Triton Takes Down Dragons
ARGOS – Nate Flenar had 19 points and Beau Hepler added nine in Triton’s 43-27 win over host Argos in a non-conference boys basketball game Thursday night.
Triton held a 20-10 lead at halftime before the Dragons cut their deficit in half by the end of the third quarter. The Trojans outscored Argos 13-2 over the final eight minutes to secure the win.
The Trojans (10-5) host Caston at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Trojan Trench.

DENVER – Whitko outscored host North Miami 27-4 in the first quarter and rolled from there to a 77-39 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball win Thursday night.
Nate Walpole had 23 points, Rever West added 19 and Spencer Sroufe added another double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds for Whitko.
The Wildcat junior varsity got 19 points from Micah Cokl, 16 points from Shad Ebbinghouse and 10 from Cody Swick in their 57-39 win over the Warriors.
Whitko (9-7, 4-3 TRC) travels to Marion to take on Eastbrook at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Squires Win In OT, 49-47
NORTH MANCHESTER – Brayden Casper had a three-pointer in overtime, with Mason Hamby and David McAtee scoring from the field in the extra period to give Manchester a 49-47 Three Rivers Conference win over visiting Northfield Thursday night.
McAtee finished with 19 points and Hamby 11 for the Squires.
Manchester’s junior varsity needed two overtimes to win 59-52. Logan Isbell had 13 points and  Logan Parrett had 12 in that game.
The Squires (5-11, 4-3 TRC) play at Logansport in a non-conference game Saturday night.

AUBURN – Josh McDaniel scored 16 points, and Eli Raymond had eight points in Lakeland Christian Academy’s 72-46 loss at Lakewood Park Thursday night.
Landon Twombly added seven points and Jeremy Gross scored five points for the Cougars.
Lakeland Christian (6-11) travels to Fort Wayne Smith Academy for a game at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Lady Warriors Beat DeKalb
SYRACUSE – Reagan Atwood and Jada Parzygnot finished 1-2 in the all-around, leading the Wawasee gymnasts to a 106.525-99.925 win over sectional foe DeKalb Thursday.
Atwood was first on the beam and in the floor exercise, and second on the vault and beam. Parzygnot won the bars, was second on the flor and beam, and third on the vault.
Wawasee travels to LaGrange Saturday for the Lakeland Invitational, beginning at 11 a.m.

Get To Know The Team: Warsaw Captains Q&A
Earlier this week, I had the privilege of going to a Warsaw football practice and speaking with four of the team’s five captains.
