The Lady Trojans led 23-1 after the first eight minutes and expanded the gap to 31-4 in the second quarter. By the end of the third quarter the Lady Comets cut their deficit to 12 (40-28) before Triton outscored Caston 16-10 in the final period.
Each team had more than 40 rebounds, with Triton gathering 47 missed shots. Triton’s Nicole Sechrist had a game-high 12 rebounds.
Hannah Wanemacher led all scorers with 23 points, including five made three-pointers, and Whytnie Miller had 12 points.
Now 7-9 overall and in second place in the conference at 3-1, Triton is off until its Jan. 3 non-conference game at Oregon-Davis.
