BOURBON — James Allen Amsden, 80, died at 1:05 p.m. Dec. 10, 2017, in Signature Health Care, Bremen.

He was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Goshen, to Carl Sr. and Etta Marie Metzger Amsden. He married Julia Hartzell on July 22, 1961; she died June 30, 2016.

Jim served in the United States Army and National Guard.

Local survivors include a son, Carl (Jessica) Amsden, Bourbon.

He will be cremated. A graveside memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Parks Cemetery, Bourbon.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, is assisting with arrangements.
