She was born July 21, 1942, in Anderson, to Roxford Fleming and Mary Jane Layton Arford.
She graduated in 1960 from Middletown High School, attended Ball State University in Muncie, and lived most of her life in the Middletown/Anderson area before moving to North Webster in 1986.
She was married on June 25, 1961, in Middletown, to David C. “Dave” Edwards, who survives.
She was formerly employed at JC Penney in Anderson, Anderson Community Schools as a secretary for 10 years, and was a clerk for Farmers Home Administration in Warsaw for 17 years.
She formerly attended the United Methodist Church in Middletown and United Methodist Church in North Webster. She was the former president of the PTA at Columbia Grade School, Anderson, and served on the board as president and treasurer of the Webster Lake Conservation Association for 15 years.
She loved spending time at the happiest place on earth. She took pleasure in planning for Christmas and enjoyed being at the lake with family, friends and her beloved dog, Minnie.
She is survived by her husband, Dave Edwards, North Webster; a daughter, Joyce Elaine (Steve) Staub, Fishers; a son-in-law, Greg Wilson, Pendleton; four grandchildren: Sarah (Nick) Cox, Joshua (Janae) Wilson, Steven Staub and Alec Staub; and a sister, Lucinda Jane (Darrell) Tibbett, Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two daughters, Mary Ellen Wilson and Christine Alisse Edwards.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind. 13 and CR 500N, North Webster.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, in the funeral home, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will take place in the Mock Addition of North Webster Cemetery.
