Warrior Swimmers Sweep Panthers In NLC Meet
NAPPANEE – Wawasee was dominant in sweeping host NorthWood in a Northern Lakes Conference swim meet Tuesday. The Warrior boys rolled to a 145-37 win while the Lady Warriors took a 125-58 decision.
The Wawasee girls won all three relay races and swept the top three spots in the 200 IM, the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke. Alyssa Koch and Ella Park were double-winners for the Lady Warriors. Koch won the 200 IM and 100 while Park took the 200 and 500 free.
Belle Brunner won the 50 freestyle and was second in the 100 backstroke. Abigail Hackleman won the 100 butterfly and was second in the 200 IM. Rileigh Atwood won the 100 breaststroke was was seond in the 100 free.
Other top performers for the Wawasee girls were Caitlin Kingery, second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 free; Tessa Freel, second in the 50 free; Lizzy Brugh, second in the 100 butterfly and 500 free; Emily Eshbach, third in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke; and Alexis Bellamy, third in the 100 butterfly.

The Warriors had three double-winners: Jared Krugman in the 200 free and 100 butterfly, Brady Robinson in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke, and Brett Willaman in the 50 free and 100 backstroke.
Jake Cowan won the 500 free and was second in the 200 free. Bryce Knepp won the 100 free and was third in the 200 free. Isaiah Metcalf had a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 IM and 500 free. Daegan Kingery was second in the 50 free, Dane Jenkins second in diving, and Karlson Hand was second in the 100 free and 100 backstroke. Alexander Troutman was second in the 100 breaststroke and Spencer Naugler was second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 200 IM.
Aaron Troutman had a trio of third-place finishes; in the 100 butterfly, the 500 free and the 100 backstroke. Ira Kerlin took third in diving.
The Wawasee teams will host Plymouth in a conference meet Thursday.

NORTH MANCHESTER – Jackson Mathias (126 pounds), Wade France (152) and Delton Moore (170) won twice each for Manchester in its split of a pair of wrestling matches Tuesday night. The host Squires beat Three Rivers Conference foe Northfield 64-15 and lost a non-conference match 43-30 to Lewis Cass.
Single-match winners for Manchester were: Ethan Williams (106), Elijah Burlingame (106), Ethan Shambarger (113), Tyce Rooney (120), Braden Fortner (138), Andrew Cagle (160) Ashton Moore (182), Trey Mcnall (195) and Bryce Kamphues (285).

The Lady Chargers led 20-10 after the first quarter and rolled to a 38-16 lead at halftime.
Whitko (1-11) will face Class 3A No. 3 Tippecanoe Valley in a Three Rivers Conference road game Saturday.
