Warsaw Swimmers Sweep Goshen In NLC Meet
Warsaw had four double-winners in its Northern Lakes Conference swimming sweep of visiting Goshen Saturday morning. The Lady Tigers scored a 122-58 win and the Tiger boys took a 104-66 decision.
Olivia Herman won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke for the Lady Tigers, and Delaney Wihebrink took the 100 free and 100 breaststroke. Laurel Moeller won the 200 free, Lauren Kuhl the 500 free, Taylor Gunter the 200 IM and Emma Pena the diving competition for Warsaw. The Lady Tigers swept the top three spots in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke, and won all three relay races.
Double-winners for the Tiger boys were Grant Knight in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke and Alex Cook in the 50 and 100 frees. Evan Borchers took the 200 free, and Nick Zogbi won the 500 free and tied for first in the 100 backstroke.
Warsaw is scheduled to host conference foe Plymouth on Tuesday for Senior Night.

Wawasee Boys Win Own Invitational; Valley 6th
SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s boys team had six champions and won its own swimming invitational Saturday, and Tippecanoe Valley finished sixth. The Lady Warriors were fifth and the Lady Vikings ninth in the meet.
The Warriors finished with 377 points to easily outdistance Columbia City and Bremen with 217 points each. East Noble won the girls competition with 266.5 points, beating Rochester and Angola, respectively.
Brady Robinson and Jared Krugman were double-winners for the Warriors. Robinson won the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke, and Krugman the 200 and 500 freestyles. Dane Jenkins, Brady Classen and Austin Dunithan finished 1-2-3 in the diving competition, and the 400 freestyle relay team of Krugman, Robinson, Brett Willaman and Isaiah Metcalf closed out the meet with a win.
Ella Park won the 500 free for the Lady Warriors and was second in the 200 free. Alyssa Koch was second in the 200 IM, and Rileigh Atwood was second in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 100 free.
Valley’s Chase Brower set a school record in winning the 50 freestyle, covering the distance in 21.90 seconds. He also took third in the 100 free.
Wawasee will return to Northern Lakes Competition Tuesday at NorthWood. Tippecanoe Valley will compete at Manchester in a Three Rivers Conference meet Wednesday.
Warsaw 1-3 At Northridge Wrestling Tourney
MIDDLEBURY – Warsaw went 1-3 at the Northridge Raiders Super Duals wrestling tournament Saturday, beating North Judson and falling to Homestead, Northridge and Carroll.
Dylan Estepp pinned all for of his opponents at 285 pounds. Isaiah Owens (106 pounds), Jose Grimmett (145), Grayson Drudge (182), Brock Hueber (195) and Gavin Truex (220) won two matches each.
Warsaw returns to action Dec. 29 at the Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka High School.
Squires Win Caston Duals
FULTON – Manchester won all five of its matches to emerge as champions of the Caston Duals wrestling tournament Saturday. The Squires won 47-28 over LaVille, 84-0 over Tri-County, 54-27 over North Miami, 46-32 over North White and 69-12 over the host Comets.
Elijah Burlingame (106 pounds), Ethan Shambarger (113), Delton Moore (170) and Ashton Moore (182) won titles in the tournament. Kevin Morales (132), Andrew Cagle (160) and Bryce Humphries (285) went 4-1. Tyce Rooney (120), Jackson Mathias (126) Braden Fortner (138), Peyton Addair (145), Trey McNall (195) and Gavin Mize (220) won three matches each.
Manchester returns to action Tuesday, hosting a three-way match with Northfield and Lewis Cass.
Squires Drop Non-Conference Road Game
HUNTINGTON – The opening minutes were close, but Huntington North scored the last 13 points of the first quarter to take a 10-point lead and went on to a 59-32 victory over visiting Manchester in a non-conference boys basketball game Saturday night.
Koehl Fluke had 13 points and Mason Hamby scored 12 points for Manchester.
Manchester (1-3) plays a Three Rivers Conference game at Southwood Friday.
