Patrick Earns First Career Win; Valley Downs Bobcats
HAMLET – New Tippecanoe Valley head coach Chad Patrick earned his first career win Tuesday night when the Vikings edged host Oregon-Davis 56-53 in a non-conference boys basketball game.
Parkur Dalrymple hit four three-point shots on his way to a team-high 18 points. Cam Parker connected twice from beyond the arc and finished with 12 points for Valley.
Oregon-Davis senior Trevor Risner had a game-high 22 points.
Valley held a 23-13 lead after the first quarter, but the Bobcats slowly worked their way back into the game, outscoring the Vikings 16-10 in the third quarter to draw within three points. Each team had 15 points in the final period.
Now 1-3, Valley will host John Glenn Saturday night.

Trojans Get First Win Of The Season On The Road
SOUTH BEND – Ross Johnson had a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead Triton to its first boys basketball win of the season, 49-35 over host South Bend Career Academy.
Johnson hit 13 of 22 shots in the non-conference game, and half of his rebounds were on the offensive end of the floor. Drew Stichter had eight points, Beau Hepler seven and Jared Bules four to round out the Trojan scoring.
Triton (1-3) will host Pioneer Friday in the first Hoosier North Athletic Conference opener for both teams. It will also be the Panthers’ season opener after the school’s run to the football state title.

HUNTINGTON – Kennedy Fierstos had 13 points and Emma West added 10 points for Manchester in its 50-37 non-conference girls basketball loss at Huntington North Tuesday night.
Sydney Day had seven points for the Lady Squires. Erika Kendall had four points and Kiera Hatfield three to round out the Manchester scoring.
The junior varsity game was won by Manchester, 23-22, over the Lady Vikings. Ranissa Shambarger had nine points and Makenzie Day and Gabbie Brewer added five points each.
The Lady Squires will travel to South Whitley to take on Three Rivers Conference rival Whitko Friday night.
Warsaw Splits Conference Swimming Meets
MIDDLEBURY – Warsaw’s swim teams split a pair of Northern Lakes Conference meets Tuesday, losing to host Northridge and beating Elkhart Memorial. The Tigers fell to the Raiders 94-76 and won 109-61 over the Crimson Chargers. Warsaw’s girls fell 132-53 to Northridge and won 147-30 over Memorial.
Delaney Whiebrink had a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle. Olivia Herman was second in the 50 free and third in the 100 backstroke. Laurel Moeller was third in the 200 and 50 frees, Emma Park was third in diving, and Taylor Gunter third in the 100 butterfly.
Alex Cook won the 100 free and was second in the 50 free for the Tiger boys. Grant Knight won the 100 breaststroke and was third in the 200 IM. Evan Borchers won the 100 butterfly and was third in the 200 free. Concord Trips Wawasee Swimmers In NLC Meet
DUNLAP – The Wawasee girls and boys swim teams each lost Northern Lakes Conference swimming meets to Concord Tuesday. The Lady Warriors dropped a 126-57 decision, while the Minutemen won 105-81 over the Wawasee boys.
Ella Park and Rileigh Atwood each had a first and a second in the meet for the Lady Warriors. Park won the 500 freestyle and was second in the 200 free. Atwood won the 100 breaststroke and was the runner-up in the 100 free. Belle Brunner was second in the 50 free and Alyssa Koch was second in the 200 IM.
The Warrior boys had a pair of double winners. Jared Kurgman won the 200 and 500 frees, and Brady Robinson the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Brett Willaman was second in the 100 free and third in the 50 free. Jake Cowan was second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 backstroke.
