He was born in Fremont, Calif., but raised in Visalia and Tipton. James attended Tulare Union High School. He then graduated from the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center to become a correctional officer and retired after 35 years.
James was a member of the Nazarene Church in Tulare. He enjoyed traveling, scuba diving, cycling, dining out and movies, and was a bird enthusiast. He will be remembered for his kindness and helping others.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Michaela Weaver Vercruse (Brian) and Nicole Weaver (Steve Borges); parents, James and Janet Weaver, North Webster; sister, Jennifer Weaver, Warsaw; longtime companion, Bonita; her two sons; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his best friend and beloved brother Jeffery Weaver.
Private services for immediate family will be held on a later date.
