Warriors Blank Host Whitko Wildcats In Boys Tennis Match
SOUTH WHITLEY – Wawasee beat Whitko without dropping a game in four of five boys tennis matches Tuesday, with the visiting Warriors winning 5-0 over the Wildcats.
Dylan Staley won in 12 games at No. 1 singles over Nathan Smith, as did Zach Leedy over Aidan Hoffman. In doubles play, Brady Robinson and Jacob Krugman blanked Bryce Tucker and William Farner at No. 1, and Jake Cowan and Evan Richey bested Charlie French and Gary Wu at No. 2 doubles.
The Warriors’ Graham Perek won 6-1, 6-1 over Devon Akers at No. 2 singles.
Collin Rhodes won his junior varsity match for Wawasee.
On Thursday, Wawasee plays a Northern Lakes conference match at Plymouth, and Whitko hosts Triton in non-conference competition.
Warsaw Beats Goshen
GOSHEN – Colton Lind won at No. 1 singles for Warsaw, and the Tigers got wins at both doubles positions to take a 3-2 victory over host Goshen in Northern Lakes Conference tennis Tuesday.
Lind beat Wes Beck, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, while at No. 1 doubles Bailey Buhrt and Kyler Bartol won in straight sets. Nolan Knight and Reuben Williams lost just three games in taking the No. 2 doubles match.
Warsaw also won seven of 12 junior varsity matches. Winners for Warsaw were Jarrett Orr, Hayden Anderson and Carter Schuh in singles, and Nick Marsh and Brian Elliott at No. 1 doubles, Kanton Waddle and Garrett Rodgers at No. 3 and Nick Rata and Dawson Vilamaa at No. 4.
Warsaw will host Culver Academies in a non-conference match today.
Squires Fall To Bluffton 4-1
NORTH MANCHESTER – Luke Donathan was Manchester’s only winner in a 4-1 non-conference tennis loss to visiting Bluffton Tuesday.
Donathan won at No 1 singles 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 over Evan Baumgartner.
Manchester (3-2) hosts Huntington North today.
Triton Blanks LaVille
BOURBON – Triton won three matches over LaVille, and got the 5-0 shutout via forfeit in Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys tennis Tuesday.
Carter Kuntz won 6-1, 6-1at No. 1 singles, and John Gardner won in 12 games at No. 2 singles. Keygan Mosier and Chase Butler won in 12 games at No. 1 doubles. Trevor Miller at No. 3 singles and Tyler Heckaman and Chase Butler at No. 2 doubles won by forfeit.
Triton (5-3) plays at Plymouth today.
Valley Blanked At Peru
PERU – Tippecanoe Valley lost a Three Rivers Conference boys tennis match 5-0 at Peru Tuesday.
The Vikings will host Knox in a non-conference match today.
