Lady ‘Cats Soccer Falls In Shootout To Rochester
SOUTH WHITLEY – Freshman Breanna Keirn scored her first career goal for Whitko in its 3-2 shootout loss to Rochester in a Three Rivers Conference girls soccer match Thursday.
Abigail Hartman had two shots for Whitko, with Sidney Overmeyer and Charlotte Cripe getting off one shot each for the Lady Wildcats.
Next up for Whitko is a TRC match at Maconaquah Saturday afternoon.
LCA Falls In Three
WINONA LAKE – Cami Dahms had three aces, three kills and five digs for Lakeland Christian in its 25-19, 25-21, 25-13 volleyball home loss to Michiana Christian Athletic Club Thursday.
Heather Plastow had 13 digs for the Lady Cougars, and Carlie Wise had three kills and an ace for LCA.
Lakeland Christian will host Argos at 7 p.m. today.
Cougars Fall To Bruins
WATERFORD MILLS – Lakeland Christian dropped a 5-0 decision at Bethany Christian in a boys soccer match Thursday night.
Junior Remington Swanson had 10 saves in goal for the Cougars. LCA had just one shot on goal.
The Cougars (1-2) travel to Valpariaso to take on Victory Christian tonight.
Triton Sweeps Argos
BOURBON – Nicole Sechrist had nine kills, and Charlotte Morris added five more kills for Triton in its 25-10, 25-14, 25-13 volleyball win over Argos in Thursday’s non-conference matchup.
Haley Hooley had seven assists and two aces for the Lady Trojans. Sydney Musilli had six aces, Hannah Wanemacher had 13 assists and Lexia Hostrawser had five solo blocks.
The Lady Trojan junior varsity won 25-15, 25-9 over Argos.
Triton will host Knox in a Hoosier North Athletic Conference match Thursday.
Valley Spikers Fall
AKRON – Junior Sophie Bussard had 23 digs and 10 kills for Tippecanoe Valley in its 26-24, 25-18, 26-24 loss to visiting Wabash in a Three Rivers Conference volleyball match Thursday.
Emily Peterson had 17 assists and Olivia Trippiedi had four aces for the Lady Vikings. Amy Baca had five assisted blocks in the match.
In the junior varsity match, Sidney Wagoner had seven kills and three aces in Valley’s 25-18, 25-19 win. Allison Betten had 10 digs, with Hannah Engstrand and Sarah Myers adding seven assists each.
Now 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference, Valley will play in the Manchester Invitational on Saturday.
Valley Soccer Gets First Win Of Season
FULTON – Harrison Vining, Alan Jimenez, Manny Dominguez and Landon Brainard scored goals for visiting Tippecanoe Valley in its 4-3, come-from-behind victory at Caston Thursday night.
The win was the first boys soccer victory of the season for the Vikings.
Fabian Mar played all 80 minutes in goal for Valley and was credited with 17 saves. He also had a penalty-kick goal waved off on an offside penalty.
Valley improved to 1-3 overall, and will host Manchester in a Three Rivers Conference match at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
