Singles Meeting Friends

A group of 15 — including a new person, Nancy — met Aug. 23 at the upstairs deli at Martin's.

The group carried on conversations at two tables. One topic at both tables was concern and prayers for Edie, who had traveled to Indianapolis for medical tests. Before the evening was over the group got word that the tests were complete and Edie is doing OK.  After a brief meeting, Tom continued research on his genealogy.

Three tables stayed to play euchre. Players included Nancy, who had never played before.

Upcoming events include the Heirloom Tomato Festival in Pierceton from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, and the Oakwood Fine Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. today.

Meetings of Singles Meeting Friends begin between 6:30 and 7 p.m. every Wednesday at Martin’s. The group also has a game night the second Friday of the month.
