AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley used a pair of three-set wins in singles play to earn a 3-2 non-conference boys tennis victory over visiting John Glenn Monday evening.

Seth Hoffman won the last two sets after dropping a first-set tiebreaker to take the No. 1 singles match 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 over john Glenn’s Gabe Weiss. Eric Wright came back strong after dropping his second set to win 6-2, 5-7, 6-0 over the Falcons’ Alex Ross.

The Vikings also won at No. 1 doubles, with  Dakota Parker and Payton Mills rolling to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Glenn’s  Trace Jones and Matt Moore.

At No. 3 singles, Valley’s Garrett Feldman dropped a three-set match 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 to Glenn’s Alex Kruk. The Vikings lost at No. 2 doubles in straight sets.

Valley (2-2) opens Three Rivers Conference play today at Wabash, with first serve scheduled for 5 p.m.

Singles: No. 1 – Seth Hoffman (TV) def. Gabe Weiss 6-7, 6-3, 6-2; No. 2 – Eric Wright (TV) def. Alex Ross 6-2, 5-7, 6-0; No. 3 – Alex Kruk (JG) def. Garrett Feldman 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Doubles: No. 1 – Dakota Parker and Payton Mills  (TV) def. Trace Jones and Matt Moore 6-4, 6-1; No. 2 – Anthony Kaser and Brandon Goble (JG) def. Connor Frentzel and Jeremy Landis 6-2, 6-1.
