Smiths Married For 60 Years

Phil Smith and the former Marianne Byrum were married Aug. 16, 1957, in Oakland Church in Carroll County by the Rev. Howard Noggle.
Marianne was a school teacher for 40 years before retiring. Philip raised hogs and farmed for 42 years before retiring.
The Smiths are members of the Presbyterian Evan-gelical Church, Warsaw, and have been a godly example in their marriage to their children and grandchildren.
Their children are Gary (Melody) Smith, Silver Lake; Jeff (Kathy) Smith, Liberty Mills; and Kevin (Kathy) Smith, Silver Lake.
They have seven grandchildren: Kayla (Trenton), Kyle, Kole, Megan, Morgan, Angela (Dan) and Melissa; and five great-grandchildren.
Phil and Marianne celebrated their anniversary with a dinner and an evening spent with their children and grandchildren.
