Bishops Celebrate 50th anniversary

Robert and Waneta Bishop, Leesburg, were married 50 years on Sunday.

Robert Bishop and the former Waneta Deaton were married Aug. 20, 1967, in Claypool Evangelical United Brethren Church by the Rev. Wayne Johnson and the Rev. Fred Pflugh.

Bob taught school in Warsaw Community Schools for 16 years while farming part time. In 1985 he retired from teaching and began farming full time. Waneta retired from Zimmer in 1998.

They continue to farm in Leesburg today.

Their children are Sonja (Randy) Hesser, Leesburg; Jim (Nicole) Bishop, Pendleton; and Mike Bishop, deceased. They have seven grandchildren.

A private celebration with family and friends is planned.
