Triton Beats Whitko; LCA’s Fishel Medalist

Delanie Groves and Kate Gardner each shot 52 to help Triton beat Whitko in a girls golf match at Rozella Ford Golf Club Thursday.
Lakeland Christian’s Abby Fishel was the medalist, posting a 49.
Alysha May had a 53 for the Lady Trojans, with Megan McFarland shooting a 55 and Whytnie Miller a 56.
Bailey Wright had a 59 for Whitko, with Makayla Compton, Summer West and Kayce Sims each shooting 63. Erin Starkweather shot 66 for the Lady Wildcats.
Whitko will play in the Rochester Invitational Saturday morning. Triton (2-1) will host Manchester Tuesday.
Lady Squires Win Over Canterbury
NORTH MANCHESTER – Lydia Little, the lone senior for Manchester, shot a 45 in the Lady Squires’ win over Fort Wayne Canterbury at Sycamore Golf Club on Senior Night Thursday.
Canterbury didn’t field a full squad, so no team scores were kept.
Sam Kissel was the medalist with a 40, and Kelsey Eichenauer had a 47 for the Lady Squires. Cora Barnett had a 53, Madyson Ulrey a 56, Morgan Stroud a 60 and Alissa Bickerstaff a 61 for Manchester.
“We honored our senior tonight. Lydia has become a great leader for our program,” Manchester coach Josh Troyer said. “I’m proud of all she has done. As a team we are battling some things right now but we are determined to get it ironed out and keep preparing for September.”
Manchester will play in the Rochester Invitational on Saturday.
